Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: RSTI), the industrial laser maker wit dual headquarters in Plymouth and Hamburg, Germany, reported net income of $11.9 million or 42 cents a share in the fourth fiscal quarter ended Nov. 30, up from $5.3 million or 18 cents a share in the same quarter a year earlier.
Sales for the quarter were $124.4 million, up 37 percent from $90.5 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
For the fiscal year, neet income was $29.8 million or $1.02 a share, up from $9.2 million or 31 cents a share a year earlier. Sales were $423.6 million, up 21 percent from $349.6 million a year earlier.
The company said its sales in North America rose 12 percent for the year from $78.7 million from $70 million, while sales in Europe declined 1 percent to $196.3 million from $199.1 million, and sales in Asia rose 85 percent to $148.6 million from $80.5 million.
