Woman Charged After Infant Falls From Car

An Inkster woman is facing child abuse and other charges after an infant fell out of her moving car over the weekend. The Wayne County prosecutor's office announced Monday the 22-year old will also be charged  with felonious driving and driving with a suspended license.

The 18-month-old child, who was not in a car seat, fell out of the car Saturday night near Beech and Fox Street in Inkster.  Investigators say the woman charged in the case isn't related to the baby, but was caring for the child at the time of the incident.

The child was taken to a local hospital and treated for a head injury.

The woman was expected to be arraigned sometime Monday.
