Ford's New Truck: Powerful and Fuel-Efficient

Ford's new pick-up truck, the 2011 F-150 with EcoBoost engine, is said to offer more power, and more powerful savings at the pump.

According to Ford, the F-150 with EcoBoost offers some impressive specs with its 420 lb.-ft. torque, 365 horsepower, up to 11,300 pounds of trailer tow capacity and up to 3,060 lbs. of payload capacity. In addition, the current EcoBoost engines deliver fuel economy gains of up to 20 percent compared with larger engines with similar power.

Marc Lapine, F-150 Consumer Marketing manager, says that he is sure consumers will be impressed by the specs of the truck, but knows "there is no substitute for getting behind the wheel and experiencing it firsthand."

Ford will offer one-on-one test drives to customers across the country before the vehicle is officially released.

For every test drive conducted, Ford will donate $10 to the customer's choice of two charities: the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Future Farmers of America.

Carlito Bernil of Memphis is one car enthusiast who plans on testing the truck.

"The new F-150 with EcoBoost caught my interest because it's supposed to have the power of a V8 with the fuel efficiency of a smaller engine. And it's not going to hit the streets until spring, so I think it's pretty neat that I'm going to have a chance to drive it now," he said.
