Troy-based Basso Design Group said Tuesday it had completed and launched a Web site, as well as a comprehensive interactive marketing campaign, for the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders.
The Detroit Pride is a professional cheer and dance squad that bills itself as the unofficial cheerleading squad of the Detroit Lions.
Unlike many NFL teams, the Lions have never had a cheer squad, though Pride officials say many groups have tried.
The Pride came to Basso Design in August, just five weeks before the start of the regular season, and asked for professional help with online marketing, including Web site, search engine optimization and social marketing.
Basso Design Group created a Flash animated Web site in just under a month that garnered national attention. In addition to the website, Basso Design group also initiated a strong search engine optimization campaign as well as consulted with the Pride regarding their social marketing efforts.
In the first two months of working with Basso Design Group, the marketing efforts have resulted in articles in national publications and websites such as ESPN, Yahoo, Fox, and NBC. The social marketing efforts have helped gather more than 3,000 new fans for the group on Facebook, and the team now plans a 2011 photo calendar.
Basso Design Group is now an official sponsor of the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders. You can catch the Detroit Pride outside the stadium prior to every Lions game and other events around the metro Detroit area.
