A local teenager is behind bars after leading police on a high-speed chase through several communities overnight.
It started when Romulus Police attempted to make a traffic stop, but the teen refused to slow down. Instead, he led officers westbound on I-94, all the way out to Ann Arbor.
The pursuit only stopped there, police say, after the unidentified teenager lost control of his car and crashed near the State Street exit.
The suspect is in custody, but required a trip to the hospital for unspecified injuries. Police say the teenager may have decided to run because the car he was driving had been stolen.
