Reward Offered For Info In Dollar Store Death

The family of a Ferndale dollar store owner killed last week is pleading for help in finding his murderer.

WWJ's Stephanie Davis reports the family of Karim Khamarko is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever shot Khamarko at the Dollar Club Plus store on Hilton Road.

Police say that the shooting took place sometime between 8:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. last Friday.

"He was the love of my life," Khamarko's wife Ida said while crying outside the store Tuesday afternoon.  "He worked very hard for this community here."

Ferndale Police Detective Lt. William Wilson said investigators have some evidence from the scene and surveillance video, but they need more help from the public in finding the killer.

Anyone with information should contact Ferndale police at (248) 546-2396.
