Reading Scores On The Rise
The Program for International Student Assessment had some good and bad news for parents in the U.S. and across the globe this week.
For American parents, they will be glad to know that reading scores of students in the U.S. are up, and are the only area in which the U.S. has improved over the last decade.
Across the world, reading scores for girls are a solid grade level higher than those for boys, a fact attributed to boys reading less for fun, and becoming less engaged with the subject over time.
