First Chevy Volt Delivered To Customer

The first Chevy Volt has been delivered to a customer  Jeffrey Kaffee , of Parsippany, New Jersey, picked up his Volt Wednesday morning  at Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, New Jersey.
 
"I've been following this car for years, and was just lucky enough to get one and be the first to get it," said Kaffee.
The carriers hauling the Volt left the Detroit Hamtramk plant earlier this week, and that dealership was the first to receive its shipment of the vehicles.

Kaffee telling WWJ AutoBeat Reporter Jeff Gilbert that he likes the Volt because it's both green and practical, and he plans to use it as a daily driver.
 
"I happen to be a realtor at this time," he said.  "So I take my clients out.  On average, I think it will be in EV mode most of the time."

Kaffee said he used to drive a BMW to impress would be customers.  Now, he feels they are more impressed by green vehicles. 
"We are making history here today, and I'm very proud that the first Volt in the United States has been delivered out of Gearhart Chevrolet," said the owner of the dealership, Judy Schumacher-Tilton.

She owns two dealerships, and already has 16 Volts on order.

"I believe it's the future, the future of General Motors."
