The Queen of Soul is out of the hospital. Singer Aretha Franklin, widely reported to be battling pancreatic cancer, was released Sunday.
Neither the 68-year-old singer or her publicist are saying why she was hospitalized, but word is that Franklin is hoping to take in a pair of theater shows in Detroit in the coming weeks. She says she’s hoping to see a play about Sam Cooke and to see the production of “Dreamgirls” before it closes late December.
In a statement released Wednesday, Franklin said her family and friends are taking great care of her and she also has a private nurse who checks on her every day.
