The Red Wings may have more bullets in their chamber than any other National Hockey League team with stars such Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen up front, and Nicklas Lidstrom and Brian Rafalski along the blue line - in addition to tremendous depth. However, the Red Wings will ultimately only go as far as their goaltending takes them.
Jimmy Howard has unquestionably earned the No.1 goalie spot for the Red Wings. He unexpectedly won 37 games last regular season as a rookie, taking over when Chris Osgood became ill, and never fully re-gained his form.
