Suburban Collection Wins Naming Rights For Novi's Showplace

The Rock Financial Showplace has a new partner and a new name -- the Suburban Collection Showplace. The announcement was made at a press conference at the venue today by Blair Bowman, Showplace owner and David T. Fischer, Suburban Collection chairman and CEO.

The Showplace and Suburban Collection have entered into a new, multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement for exclusive naming rights of the 320,000 square-foot landmark conference and expo center, on Grand River Avenue west of Novi Road.

"The Suburban Collection, with its much-respected reputation, long history in Michigan and commitment to community were exactly what we were seeking in a new business partner," said Bowman.

Said Fischer: "We are proud to lend our name and tradition to this outstanding venue. The high-profile nature of this facility coupled with nearly limitless promotional and cross-promotional opportunities will make our partnership a 'win-win' for all involved -- including for Showplace visitors, our Suburban Collection customers and the area community."

A new logo denoting the new name was also unveiled at the event. New signage, including marquees along I-96 and Grand River Avenue, are expected to be in place by early 2011.

Founded in 1948 in the Troy Motor Mall, The Suburban Collection has been selling and servicing vehicles in Michigan for over 60 years. Today, the Suburban Collection is Michigan's largest dealership group, offering products from twenty-nine manufacturers and is the 13th-largest dealer group in the country.
