95-Year-Old Woman Hit By Car, Hospitalized

A 95-year old Monroe County woman was in critical condition Friday, after she was hit while trying to cross the road to go to church.

Police say Veronica Guczwa of Carleton was hit Thursday in Ash Township as she tried to cross Labo Road around 6:30 p.m.

Guczwa was flown to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti.   The three people in the SUV, including the driver, 30-year old Elizabeth Riley of Carleton, weren’t hurt.
