Dave Rayner’s third field goal, a 34-yarder with 9:51 left in overtime gave the Detroit Lions a 23-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and ended the longest road losing streak in NFL history at 26 games on Sunday.

Rayner kicked a 28-yarder as time expired in regulation to force the extra period. The Lions took the overtime kickoff and drove 63 yards – covering most of the distance on two big runs and a 12-yard reception by Calvin Johnson on third-and-8 – to set up the game-winner.

Stanton plays QB that helps the short to intermediate passing game, moves well in the pocket, is a threat to make positive yardage in running the ball. He saved his NFL career which is good. His teammates both offense and defense are happy with him as the QB. He can get the ball to Calvin, Nate and the RBs. Lions are now a threat to win a game. Shaun Hill game them a chance to compete. There is a difference between competing and winning football games! Thanks! John

About time we won on the road. We got rid of 2 losing streaks in the last 2 weeks. About time, Drew Stanton is 2- 0 as a starter this year why not play him next game too.

  3. Dan Hollerud says:

I am looking forward to next year for sure. Let’s keep Drew in there, he knows how to win.

    settle down slappys

  5. Matt says:

Final a complete win where every part of the team contibuted in it. Hopefully they can keep it up and finsh on a high note!

  6. Jeremy says:

Look out, here comes all the Stanton slappys, at least he gets his NFL pension! :) Lather up in the Stanton butter!

  7. Mark in Ann arbor says:

Drew is not a great NFL QB. However, he just keeps winning. Call him whatever you want but call him a winner (with an NFL pension).

  8. Drew says:

Stanton is benefiting from a running game, and his playmakers are finally making plays! If you think he’s better than Stafford then you obviously do not know much about football!

  9. Ian says:

Not a Stanton slappy, but if he doesn’t go to CJ and stretch te field out, the running game isn’t there. Stanton now has 2 wins as a starter, how many does Stafford have? Hill or Stafford ever hit Megatron up for 150+yards? At least we are winning with him in!
