Travelers Head Out For The Holidays

The holiday rush is on at Metro Airport! Many travelers starting to head out Thursday to various destinations to visit with family and friends, and even enjoy a little fun in the sun.

WWJ's Ron Dewey caught up with Sherri Burnett of Toledo who's bound for Orlando to join ten of her family members for the holidays.

"We're hoping the weather is going to be nicer there, although I'm not sure if it is or not. ...It'll be warmer, but I don't think we'll be sitting by the pool," says Burnett, who also adds, "It's fun to be together."

WWJ also stumbled upon a fun surprise for a couple of young travelers. Preston Harris of Detroit is taking his family to Disney World this Christmas, but tells WWJ his two young daughters have no clue where they're headed.

He says it's a secret Santa mission that's been hard to keep under wraps, but so far so good for what should turn out to be a very merry Christmas for one local family.
