1 Dead, 4 Hurt In Freeway Accidents

A 16-year-old girl was in critical condition Wednesday morning after she was thrown out of an SUV that crashed along U.S. 23 near Ann Arbor.

Michigan State Police aren't sure what made the vehicle run off the freeway near Washtenaw Avenue Tuesday night. State Police say the SUV rolled over and the teenager was thrown into a tree and then she fell out of the tree.

Three others in the vehicle were taken to the hospital. State Police say they had non-life threatening injuries.

Meantime, Troy police say a 34-year old Troy resident died after he was hit by a post office semi-truck after walking onto I-75 Tuesday night.

Investigators say the man parked his car on the shoulder of the freeway and walked into traffic in an apparent suicide.   A note was found in the man's car.
