Deadly Accident On Local Freeway

A man who got out of a car to argue with his girlfriend was hit by a car and killed.

Michigan State Police say the 29-year old man was killed Thursday evening around 8pm when he was hit on the shoulder of I-94 and thrown onto I-75.

Investigators say the man, who was having an argument with the woman driver, got out of a car that was stopped in the right hand lane of westbound I-94 and walked to the shoulder.  He was hit by a car that swerved to avoid the stopped car.  The impact sent the man flying over the guardrail and onto the northbound lanes of I-75 where he was hit by several other vehicles.

I-75 was closed at Warren for several hours as police investigated.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident should contact Michigan State Police at 313-456-6600.
