Will Jim Harbaugh Coach At Michigan?

Former University of Michigan quarterback and current Stanford Cardinal coach Jim Harbaugh is the most talked about coach in the sports world today.

Harbaugh's name has been discussed for some time as being the next football coach at the University of Michigan, however he's also been mentioned as a possible coach of the San Fransisco 49ers and Denver Broncos in the National Football League. Tony Ortiz reports that the Miami Dolphins have also expressed interest.

Meantime, AnnArbor.com reports that U of M athletic director Dave Brandon will meet with embattled coach Rich Rodriguez Tuesday afternoon to discuss his future with the Wolverines football program. That's according to two people with knowledge of the meetings. (More on this).

So far, there has been no official announcement from Brandon about the future of coach Rodriguez or the program. An announcement is expected sometime this week.

Asked about his future after Stanford's 40-12 victory over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl, Harbaugh said "oh please, please give me a break, you know have some respect for the game and, uh, it's about the performance tonight of these players and I, uh, love um, let's talk about them."

There have been a number of rumors and analysis concerning Harbaugh including a signed contract was already on Brandon's desk. However, Tuesday morning the latest information from analysts had Harbaugh headed for the NFL or staying at Stanford.

Rodriguez has gone 15-22 in three seasons with the Wolverines. UM lost to Mississippi State 52-14 in the Gator Bowl, the worst bowl loss in school history.
