There has been another case of a person — walking in the traffic lanes of a local freeway — and being hit and killed by oncoming traffic.
It’s a story WWJ had been watching this morning because I-75 near Lapeer Road had been closed for quite a long time. Police have now explained why. The investigation going on there involves a man who walked into southbound I-75 traffic and was hit by a semi. His body was then thrown into the line of traffic and hit by a couple of other vehicles. He was dead at the scene. His identity hasn’t been released yet. Police want to make sure they notify family members first. The trucker involved will not be charged.
This is the third such fatality within the past week. A man walked into I-75 traffic in Troy last week. And then, just a couple of days ago, a woman was killed on Telegraph Road. Police call both suicides.
