Enjoy live music “up close and personal” from local legends and new artists that exhibit pride in Detroit’s rich musical history, from Motown to Rock and Roll.

Bob Segar sax man Alto Reed will make a special appearance with his Motor City AllStars on Thursday, January 13th, 2011 at The Hard Rock Café in Detroit to launch this new live”music experience, “Alto Reed’s AllStar Thursday Night Concert Series.” 

The concert series line-up includes big screen performers The Electric Playground, Nashville recording artist and Detroit native David Shelby and Vitamin Water People’s Choice winners Robots In The Garden during the month of January, 2011. 

While you’re there, you can check out memorabilia representing The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Eminem, Jimi Hendrix, Ted Nugent, Grand Funk Railroad and Kid Rock.

Admission ranges from $5 – $20 at the Door. Free Parking is available in the Compuware parking structure. The Hard Rock Café Detroit is located at 45 Monroe Street, across from Campus Martius Park. Doors open at 7 p.m.  Performances begin 8 p.m.

    Can’t wait – just heard they added Sweet Crystal and MediSin Wheel to the series on 2/24. Now that’s Detroit music with a message we all need!
