Windsor Chrysler Worker Busted For Allegedly Stealing Copper Welding Parts

A Windsor Chrysler worker has been arrested for allegedly stealing copper welding tips from the Chrysler Canada minivan plant.

Windsor Police responded to a tip earlier this week that somebody
was selling the stolen copper to a local scrap yard.  The copper tips were new and had not been used.

Police later found out that this was the latest in a series of sales by one person, since April of last year.

Police believe the suspect, 40-year old John Stanley Taylor, of Windsor, spent the past nine months smuggling more than 5,800 pounds of copper from the plant.

Taylor was arrested on Wednesday at the minivan plant, and charged with theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and fraud exceeding $5,000.
