Matt Dery's Daily Update 1-10-11
The wait is on. The three team deal in the NBA is reportedly close to being done that involves the Pistons and Rip Hamilton. The long time Piston would head to New Jersey along with Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups from Denver. Detroit in return would get Troy Murphy whose contract expires at season end and big man Johan petro who has 2 more years left after this one. ESPN is reporting that the Pistons would also get a second round pick. Denver would get among others, Devin Harris and Derrick Favors. The Nets and Pistons seem ready to roll. Reportedly the Nuggets are having cold feet and now are trying to include Al Harrington in the deal.
Rip Hamilton did not talk today following the team's shoot around in Chicago, Pistons face the Bulls tonight. Pregame at 7 and tip is at 8 on WWJ AM 950.
Michigan AD David Brandon will meet with Les Miles tomorrow. The LSU coach confirmed it after Patrick Peterson spoke today in Baton Rouge. The meeting is expected to happen in Dallas because Miles is going to be a t the American Football Coaches Association Convention. The all everything cornerback Peterson was asked about Miles future.
