This week it was announced the Pistons could be on the verge of being sold to Billionaire financier Tom Gores. They have entered a 30 day exclusive negotiating period which means something could be finalized very soon. This would be a huge step in the right direction for the Pistons since they have lacked stability and organizational direction since the passing of former owner Bill Davidson. This news along with the possibility of unloading Rip Hamilton’s contract and the recent play of Austin Daye and rookie Greg Monroe has the Piston’s future looking a bit brighter. Rookie Greg Monroe has had three straight double doubles and should probably be inserted into the starting lineup. Just this past Saturday night Austin Daye hit a game tying 3 pointer to send the game into overtime where the Pistons eventually won. Both players have shown that with more playing time they will continue to get better and could become the new nucleus of this team. And also don’t forget that around the trade deadline that Tayshaun Prince’s expiring contract will look very attractive to other teams and that the Pistons could use that to acquire an all-star type player for the Pistons to build around.
