LSU has confirmed that Les Miles will return for his seventh season at the school. LSU released the following statement, “I am pleased to announce that Les Miles will remain the head coach at LSU. Les has led this program to many great successes on the field and his players represent LSU well off the field. We look forward to many great years of LSU football under his leadership.”

Michigan AD David Brandon went to meet with Miles in Baton Rouge on Monday night. It is unclear if Brandon offered the job to Miles. Les Miles is 62-17 at LSU since he started coaching there in 2005.

that sucks, why can michigan not get the quality coach they need? let’s just give the job to brady hoke and get it over with or even ron english, what does this say about the program in general, that they cannot attract the coaches they seek? not good.

    1. chcuk says:

Agreed. The so called Michigan recruits itself stuff is crazy. First off SEC coaches don’t leave to come North. Also whom ever takes this job will be the 5th or 6th choice that we wanted. He will also inherit Rich Rod’s mess will not be pretty for a few year’s

  2. Mike D says:

I am not convinced they wanted Jim Harbaugh or Les Miles…. Regardless Brady Hoke is an excellent fit. Jim Trussell was Youngstown States coach before OSU and look at them now.

    1. chuck says:

Please do not compare Jim Tressell as a quality coach. His tactics at both schools has not been on the up and up. The media may have a love affair with sweater boy, but he took over John Coopers team and won a questionable National Championship in his first year. He has since been the benefactor of a weak weak weak conferance

    2. seanv says:

Amike D Tressell was there developing recruiting contacts in Ohio high schools for over a decade before going to OSU. Hoke has been so-cal. hoke is a joke. Michigan will win fewer games than the lions next year. They are an embarrassment.

  3. Jamie says:

Not a big deal for me. First and foremost they fired Rich Rod so the haters should be happy. Second, they are taking there time to hopefully get this one right. A big name does not always mean success. Let them choose the next coach and give him 2-3 years and then make a decision if it was a good hire or not. Relax they will get it right for once.

and then there were two, my money is on mysterious candidate C. This is taking way too long for it not to be!

    1. chuck says:

There is no candidate C. Brady Hoke is the # 5 guy that they wanted. And just like Rich Rod not being the number 1 choice

  5. Dave says:

The unknown candidate is Urban Meyer… me on this one. It will happen

  6. Curious says:

Who has Brandon actually talked to about job? Miles is the only one I know of. Have they even talked to Hoake?

  7. J B says:

Urban Meyer? I highly doubt that. He just retired a second time in 2 years for health reasons. He would look like an a-hole if he came to Michigan. Keep Dreaming Dave…
