Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak Accredited For Hip and Knee Replacement: Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for its total hip and total knee replacement programs. The accreditation comes after an extensive on-site evaluation where Beaumont demonstrated compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety. Beaumont met and exceeded the benchmark guidelines and clinical expectations in earning the designations. Fewer than 100 of the nation's 8,000 hospitals have been awarded the Total Knee and Total Hip Gold Seal of Approval through The Joint Commission's Disease-Specific Care Certification Program, designed to evaluate clinical programs across the continuum of care. The Joint Commission's certification process addresses three core areas. It ensures that applicants are in compliance with national standards; that they are using effective, evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care; and that they have an organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities.
