Police Still Investigating Cause Of Death Of Ypsilanti Twp. Couple

It's a mystery in Ypsilanti Township. The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths of two people at an apartment complex Sunday evening.

"We received a call from a concerned family member asking us to do a welfare check at the apartment." Derrick Jackson with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office stated.

When police arrived at the Lake Shore Apartments near Lake Share Boulevard, they found a man and woman in their 50's unresponsive.

It's unclear how long the couple had been dead.

Jackson spoke with WWJ 950 and says there were no obvious signs of foul play. "There were no visible signs of trauma or physical trauma. There were no gunshot wounds or stabbings or anything like that. So we're not ruling anything out at this point just because it's too early in the investigation to say."

The county medical examiner is expected to conduct an autopsy.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers or the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department.
