Fed. Prosecutors Fighting Evidence Request

Federal prosecutors are fighting a request by a defense attorney for their evidence in the case against accused underwear bomber Umar Abdulmutallab. In a filing in federal court, prosecutors are accusing attorney Anthony Chambers of "overreaching."

WWJ and Fox 2 legal analyst Charlie Langton says the filing could raise some eyebrows.

"I think speculation is going to run wild. There's got to be something in there that maybe the Fed's don't want the world to know, but that's too bad. The federal government brought these very serious charges and the rules are the rules."

Abdulmutallab has insisted on representing himself, with Chambers as a back up.  Prosecutors say Abdumutallab should make the request for the evidence himself.
