Of all the motivations for writing, kids love publishing their work for their peers and for adults. The non-profit writing program 826 understands this well, publishing their students work on the web, and for special events, creating books that feature kids’ writing.

Their most recent books include letters from elementary aged kids to Michelle Obama, called I Live Real Close to Where You Used to Live: Kids’ Letters to Michelle Obama (and to Sasha, Malia and Bo) as well as letters to President Barack Obama, titled, Thanks and Have Fun Running the Country.
