Poll Shows Snyder's Popularity High

A poll released on the eve of Governor Rick Snyder's first state of the state address finds 59 percent of likely Michigan voters hold a favorable opinion of him.

According to the EPIC-MRA poll, nine percent of survey respondents say they have an unfavorable opinion of Michigan's new Republican leader. Asked if they think Michigan is headed in the right direction, 39 percent say yes, while 41 percent say no.

The Lansing-based polling company interviewed 600 people by phone Thursday through Sunday. The results were released Tuesday and have a margin of sampling error of four percentage points up or down.
