Developments In Case Of Fallen Livonia Officer

WALLED LAKE (WWJ) - A suspect in the shooting of a Livonia police officer will face a judge Thursday morning.

The 44-year old Terry Bowling will be arraigned in Walled Lake, the scene of a shootout in which Officer Larry Nehasil was killed.

Bowling is jailed in Oakland County. His brother, David Bowling, died in Monday's gunfire.  Police say each brother has an extensive criminal record.

Police have also arrested a female — believed to be a former resident of Livonia.  She wasn't at the scene, but police say she helped the two men get rid of any stolen goods.

A public viewing for Nehasil, a 20-year veteran of the Livonia Police force, runs from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. Wednesday and again Thursday afternoon at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home on 6 Mile Road.

A mass is planned for Friday morning at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Plymouth.

For those who may not be able to make the funeral, a  "Celebration of Life" ceremony for Officer Nehasil will take place this evening at 6 p.m. at the Livonia City Hall Auditorium.

A memorial fund has also been set up for Officer Nehasil's family. Donations can be made in person at any Huntington National Bank or mailed to:
