Verizon Adds Cell Site In Washtenaw County

Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Chelsea that improves voice and data coverage in the northwest portion of Washtenaw County and the northeast portion of Jackson County.

Coverage is improved in the following areas:
* From the northern border of the Washtenaw-Lenawee county line to Harvey Road, which turns into Cavanaugh Lake Road;
* From North Territorial Road between Mount Hope Road and Hadley Road.

The new cell site is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency.
 
The company's ongoing network investment in Michigan now totals more than $1.5 billion. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed -- $5.7 billion on average every year -- to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.

In Michigan, Verizon Wireless has more than 2,100 employees and 65 company-owned retail locations in more than 50 cities.
