Wild Represents Metro Detroit At Mayors' Conference

Metro Detroit is well represented at the winter meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, underway this week in Washington D.C.

Westland Mayor William Wild is using this week to share problems, ideas, and solutions with his counterparts across the country.

"On of the interesting things that you find out when you sit down with this many mayors from across the country is that the problems are pretty much the same. I mean, the numbers of citizens -- but, at the end of the day, we're all facing the same problems," Wild said.

Friday, Wild will get a chance to chat with President Obama, and he's  looking forward to addressing two speciffic issues in that talk.

"Some potential cuts that have been talked about to the community and block grant programs. And, we're also gathers here to take a look at what successful cities across the country are doing to create inititives to help with the joblessness in their cities," he said.
