Pistons Routed By Nets, 89-74

NEW JERSEY (WWJ/AP) The Piston's handed the lack-luster New Jersey Nets their 12th victory of the season, losing to the Nets, 89-74 in New Jersey.

Tayshaun Prince had 16 points for Detroit, which was limited to 14 points in the final quarter.

Anthony Morrow led a key second-half run in his first game since mid-December to lead the New Jersey Nets to victory.

Would the play of Rip Hamilton, who sat on the bench for the sixth consecutive game, have made the difference for the Pistons? Difficult to know for sure, but Hamilton spoke before Friday nights' game saying he'd just like to know from management why he's sitting out.

``It's one of those things, you give to your team for the last nine years your blood, sweat and tears and you never expect nothing like that to happen. But it happened.'' Hamilton told the Associated Press.

Hamilton showed his displeasure with the situation by providing his own transportation to Prudential Center instead of traveling with the team to the game Friday night.

New Jersey got its second straight win with this game since owner Mikhail Prokhorov ordered the team to end its trade talks with Denver and Detroit on a megadeal that would have landed Carmelo Anthony in New Jersey.

Pistons take on the Phoenix Suns at The Palace in Auburn Hills, Saturday.
