Tigers Surprise Attendees At Auto Show
DETROIT (WWJ) Some excitement at the North American International Auto Show today as the Detroit Tigers Caravan made a stop at the GM display.
A huge crowd was at the GM display as six Detroit Tigers came by to see the cars and answer questions from the fans. WWJ's Beth Fisher spoke with Tiger catcher Alex Avila about the upcoming season: "The off-season has been very exciting not only for the new guys coming in but....we are excited for spring training."
Fisher asked Austin Jackson how many bases he wants to steal this year?
"I don't really set a goal for myself but I would like to steal around 40.
That would definitely be nice, I think I'm capable of doing that. I think it's a comfort thing and getting more experience, I'm not scared to get thrown out." Jackson said.
Other Tigers at the Auto Show: Justin Verlander, Alex Avila, Magglio Ordonez, Jose Valverde and Scott Sizemore.
Tigerfest takes place Saturday at Comerica Park.
The 2011 North American International Auto Show runs through January 23.
