Granholm To Teach In California

DETROIT (WWJ) Former Gov. Jennifer Granholm is temporarily leaving the state of Michigan to teach in California and write a book with her husband.

Granholm has accepted a two-year teaching position at California- Berkeley. She will also do some TV consulting work, some nationwide speaking, and she plans to write a book with her husband, Dan Mulhern.

Granholm has also stated that the family is keeping a home in Michigan.

Public Relations specialist Sally Rossman, "I think the fact that they want to keep a place in here sends a message to the folks that she is not leaving or abandoning Michigan. I think anyone of us that has elderly parents recognizes the need and the desire to go back and spend time with them."

If there was any concern for the former Governor being employed again, John Prescott, former aide to John Engler stated,  "You can actually make a significant amount of money after you have been governor. If you think of it, there are only 50 of them at one time, that's a pretty elite group."
