Pistons 103, Orlando 96

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) Fourteen first quarter points by Tracy McGrady help set the tone for the Pistons win over the Magic, 103-96 in Orlando, Monday night.

Speaking after the game on 97.1 The Ticket, McGrady said, "This was a big win tonight, we showed a lot of character coming in this building...and getting a win."

McGrady contributed across the board with seven rebounds and five assists. "I just tried to contribute in all aspects of the game.....I just have to keep at it day-to-day." He said.

McGrady, Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye all contributing 20 points to the Detroit win.

The Pistons were able to match every run that Orlando made, and took advantage of Orlando mistakes, scoring 26 points off 16 Orlando turnovers and shot 50 percent from 3-point range to earn their first victory of the season over the Magic.

Rodney Stuckey and Ben Gordon added 16 points apiece for Detroit.

Orlando got 20 points and 16 rebounds from Dwight Howard but shot poorly from beyond the arc, connecting on just seven of 27 attempts.

The win was the second in a row for Detroit. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Magic.
