Police: Cold Weather Likely Killed Pinckney Man

This weekend's cold weather has claimed the life at least at least one victim. Fifty-year old Charles Leroy Denman was found dead Monday morning on a sidewalk in Howell.

Originally from Pinckney, Denman was a client of the Livingston County Community Mental Health Department. Police say he had been living in Howell for three days in the immediate area where his body was located.

WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with Howell Police Chief George Basar.

"We do know that he had some significant medical history, and recently been released from the hospital.  There were no signs of foul play, so our believe at this time is that there was probably some kind of intervening medical event," Basar said.

"With the extreme cold temperatures that existed overnight, it was probably what led to this incident," he said.

An autopsy has been scheduled for later in the week.
