Bob Seger Announces 2011 Tour

Big news for Bob Seger fans.  The Michigan rock and roll legend will go back on tour in the spring.

WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with Oakland Press Music Critic Gary Graff, author of a book about Seger called "Travellin' Man,"  says Seger also plans to release his first album of new material since 2006.

"I haven't heard anything yet. I expect this will be the usual mix of rock song and some things with Country, or if we want to call it 'Americana' type of leanings. People in his camp are very high on what they've been hearing. They think he's written some really great stuff," Graff said.

Graff says we don't know yet when or where Seger will be playing in Metro Detroit.

"My sense is that the tour will start close to home. And, if it follows past pattern, usually they like to get a few weeks under their belts before they bring it home to Detroit... And then, once they do, they usually find a way to split it between the suburban venues like the Palace and then downtown like Joe Louis and Cobo," he said.

"I would expect multiple shows, both in downtown Detroit as well as in the suburbs," Graff said.
