It's THAW Radiothon Day!

(WWJ) It's that time again. Time for the eighth annual WWJ Newsradio 950 Winter Survival Radiothon for THAW, The Heat and Warmth Fund.

WWJ will broadcast live for 31 continuous hours, through noon Saturday, from the Detroit Science Center, to raise money for The Heat and Warmth Fund. THAW helps people who, through no fault of their own, are dealing with financial crises prevent utility shut-offs.

Every donation you make is matched, dollar for dollar, by THAW's utility partners.  WWJ Newsradio 950's goal is to raise enough money to help approximately 2,600 Michigan families through the long, cold winter months.

The phone number to call to make a donation to the radiothon is 1-888-579-4950.

In addition, the online auction for THAW is underway and continues through 6 p.m. Monday, January 31st.  You can bid on hundreds of exciting items at cbsdetroit.com.

It's also Ford Free Fun Days at the Science Center, beginning at three o'clock Friday afternoon. The Science Center will stay open continuously through 6 p.m. Saturday, with free admission for up to two adults and four children per party.
