DETROIT (WWJ) Metro Detroiters once again stepped up to the plate and donated more than $320,000 to THAW, The Heat and Warmth Fund.

With matching funds from DTE, that makes the total over $640,000.  The 31-hour radiothon wrapped up earlier Saturday, with online auction bidding still available and adding to the overall money raised.

WWJ’s Stephanie Davis was among those coordinating the event and noted, “The big heart of metro Detroiters has shown again for this 8th Annual WWJ Radiothon for THAW, The Heat And Warmth Fund, and it seems like in these most difficult times the compassion and giving was exceptional. As executive producer, pulling together information, lining up the guests for producers, anchors and reporters, I saw first hand the sacrifice to give to THAW, and I say ‘thank you.’ ”

Again, you can still donate by bidding through our online auction at WWJ.com through Monday at 6pm.
