Michigan GOP Elects New Party Chairman

LANSING (WWJ) Michigan Republicans have elected Robert “Bobby” Schostak as their new party chairman.

Schostak is currently the state GOP’s finance chairman and played a role in Republicans’ electoral sweep in the November election.

He was elected by unanimous ballot Saturday to replace Ron Weiser, who’s stepping down. Sharon Wise will serve as party co-chairwoman.

Schostak says he decided two years ago to get more involved in the state Republican party after his wife “told me to stop yelling at the TV” and do something about what he didn’t like.
