Michigan GOP Elects New Party Chairman

LANSING (WWJ) Michigan Republicans have elected Robert ``Bobby'' Schostak as their new party chairman.

Schostak is currently the state GOP's finance chairman and played a role in Republicans' electoral sweep in the November election.

He was elected by unanimous ballot Saturday to replace Ron Weiser, who's stepping down. Sharon Wise will serve as party co-chairwoman.

Schostak says he decided two years ago to get more involved in the state Republican party after his wife ``told me to stop yelling at the TV'' and do something about what he didn't like.
