3 Dead In Icy Monroe County Crash

MONROE CO. (WWJ) – The snowy weather appears to have been a factor in a tragic crash in Monroe County. Police say three people died when a pickup truck lost control and crashed on a slippery road in Monroe County. 

According to reports, two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and the third died at a hospital. The accident happened about 5:30 Thursday morning on US-223 near the Lenawee County line.

The victims are identified as a 30-year-old woman from Blissfield,  a 52-year-old man from Temperance and a 19-year-old from Blissfield. 

Police say road conditions and speed were factors in the accident.  The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
