Super Foods For Game Day Entertaining

DETROIT (WWJ) - Expect it to be a lot busier this weekend at the grocery store (once the snow stops that is).  The Super Bowl and those home parties are becoming more and more popular.

Manager Salvo Manaco at Vince and Joe's says that's music to grocery store owners' ears. "We rely on it big time, this is the slowest time of year for us, the first week after January all the way through (mid)  March, depending on weather, typically the slowest time of year for us," says Manaco.

Manaco also noted that sales are generally up 20 to 30 percent on Super Bowl weekend.

So what are the biggest trends?  You may be surprised.

Manaco says there is typically a spike in steak sales, and he says finger foods are also big...especially chicken wings.
