Eastpointe Company Moves Into Private Equity

An Eastpointe business called AMJ Cos. says it is expanded into private equity from its previous businesses, real estate and precious metals.

AMJ officials say they want to partner with inventors to take their ideas to market.

"We are committed to the city of Detroit and to the entire state of Michigan," said Kyle Bazzy, vice president of AMJ Companies. "Everything we do is aimed at creating and producing a product right here. We have several projects currently on tap and we're staring at a big 2011."

Bazzy is joined in the company's new effort by President Jamison Agnello. Both are graduates of Central Michigan University.

The launch of their first major project of the new year -- The L.A.W. System, a boat launching safety system -- will come to market at the 53rd annual Detroit Boat Show beginning Feb. 12 at Cobo Center.
