Westborn Market’s Gift Baskets Featured on

Specialty grocer Westborn Market regularly promotes Michigan-made products that are sold through its three stores in metro Detroit and online at Now, the grocer is helping, a neighboring Dearborn-based online business.

Several of the gift basket items from Westborn Market’s online store are featured in a “shop” on, a growing online community that helps connect buyers and sellers — locally to nationwide.

Each item advertised in Westborn Market’s shop on connects directly to the store’s own online shopping cart.

“We don’t take a percentage of the transaction like eBay and other online classifieds,” said Peder Blohm, founder of “As we continue to grow and attract visitors and content on our Web site, there’s no charge to advertise. We greatly appreciate Westborn Market’s support.”

According to Bryan Bandyk, Westborn Market’s marketing director, opening a shop on offers another way to promote Westborn’s gift baskets.

“People may be interested to know that we receive a majority of our online orders from outside Michigan,” Bandyk said.  “Many of our gift baskets feature Michigan-made products so having that extra visibility helps all of us.”

Blohm revealed that there will be a new home page and other additions coming soon to 

“Since we launched the beta version of the website last summer, we’ve received a lot of excellent suggestions from visitors about the type of online community they want to join,” Blohm said. “We’re listening and evolving as we grow.” is the first online community to securely connect buyers and sellers — locally to nationwide. The visually appealing Web site offers easy navigation and a variety of options to buy and sell products and services, promote new businesses, post and search job openings, and support the local economy.  The site does not include personal ads. There is currently no charge for any ad placements.
