Detroit School Board Begins Superintendent Search

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Board of Education is ready to put out the "help wanted" sign as it begins the process to find a superintendent.

School Board president Anthony Adams tells WWJ an evaluation of professional search firms has been completed. Adams says an announcement should be made this week as to the firm that they've selected to help them move forward. He says members of the selection committee will be announced next Monday.

Adams says the district needs an aggressive visionary who loves a challenge and can work with the community. "Part of what's missing here is that we'll need an individual who will work very closely with our community to make sure that the community concerns are addressed, so that we can educate our children," says Adams.
