Motown Winter Blast Returns Friday

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 30-foot-tall snow slide makes its return this week at the Motown Winter Blast. The popular attraction takes just about seven seconds to navigate down, and Nora Maroun of the Ambassador Bridge Company says it is a crowd favorite.

"Apparently, it is very popular, so we're hoping attendance is up and everybody from both sides of the border comes over and enjoys this wonderful event, and shows off Detroit," Maroun told WWJ Newsradio 950.

The Bridge Company is providing corporate sponsorship of the slide after the attraction lost funding a couple of years ago. Because of their sponsorship, visitors to the Winter Blast can take a ride down the snow slide for free on opening day, Friday, between the hours of 11a.m. and 4p.m. Other times during the weekend, the cost to ride the slide is $3.00.
