Police Search For Armed Bank Robber
Police are on the hunt for a masked gunman who fired a shot while robbing a bank in Madison Heights.
The robbery happened Wednesday at the Flagstar Bank branch at 13 Mile Road and Dequindre. Investigators say the man, wearing a scarf over his face, entered the bank at about 1:30 p.m.
He asked a teller for money and when he didn't get enough, he fired-off his weapon hitting a door behind the teller.
The money, his gun and a two way communication devise were found in nearby parking lot.
Madison Heights Police Lt. Robert Anderson tells WWJ the suspect is discribed as an Asian male, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a two-colored hat, stonewashed jeans and orange gloves.
All Lamphere Public Schools in Madison Heights were on lockdown, Wedneday, while police searched the area. No one was injured.
