Cautious Optimism For Michigan Recovery
DETROIT (WWJ) Encouraging signs of growth within the Michigan economy have many asking, "Is this for real?"
Private Financial and Capital Markets Group senior economist, George Morkshan, says Michigan and surrounding states are experiencing a manufacturing resurgence.
"The manufacturing resurgence has been positive for the midwest and has been positive for Michigan, in fact the strongest sectoral area within our regional economy is in manufacturing and it's reflected in a nice boost in job growth," Morkshan told WWJ's Florence Walton.
But Morkshan says uncertainty about Michigan's budget shortfall, and the steps that may be taken to correct it - create uncertainty in the business community that may effect job growth and Michigan's economic recovery.
