Matt Dery's Daily Update 2-10-11

Tom Izzo says the time is now to turn the Spartans season around. We'll see tonight as MSU plays host to Penn State. MSU is trying to avoid being swept in the season series by the Nittany Lions, MSU went through the motions and suffered a 4 point loss at PSU last month. MSU has dropped to 5-6 in Big Ten play. Tip-off is at 7pm.

CBS and Turner Sports have announced that the NCAA Tournament start times for games will be staggered so that each and every game will be televised to everybody. The games will be on CBS, TBS, TNT and Tru TV.

Bad news for NFL fans, the owners and players union have canceled their collective bargaining talks for today. After the owners walked out of last night's meeting. Reportedly they left the talks after the players proposed to take an average of 50 percent of all revenue generated by the league. Reports say the owners want the players to take a little over 40 percent of all revenue; no further negotiations are now scheduled.

Wings went through a lengthy practice at the Joe this morning before heading to Boston to face the Bruins. Jimmy Howard says he expects to be in net despite being pulled Wednesday night.
