DSO Still Talking Past Deadline

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's another day of contract talks between the two sides in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra strike.

We are told talks through intermediaries continue Saturday.

DSO management has indicated some progress needed to be made by Friday (February 11) or the season could be cancelled.

Musicians went on strike in early October and have had several proposals passed between hands without coming to an agreement, as of yet.

WWJ's citybeat reporter Vicki Thomas  reported Friday a spokesperson for the Symphony said the union representing the musicians had until the end of the day (Friday) to make a new proposal.

It has been stated that depending on what's in that proposal, both sides may go back to the bargaining table to try and hash out a deal or the rest of the season may be cancelled.
